Aetheric Temple Glossary
Aether
The subtle medium or essence that connects the spiritual and physical worlds. Aether is the field through which energy, consciousness, and divine essence move, linking all layers of reality. Sometimes referred to as the fifth element, it underlies and permeates all.
All-Spirit
The eternal Source, Divine Mind, and origin of all that exists. All-Spirit is the Source of Truth, Light, and Love, from whom all Gods, spirits, and worlds arise. Within the Temple, All-Spirit is the primary name used to honor the ineffable unity behind all creation. Also known in other traditions or poetic expressions as The One, The Source, the Eternal, or the Mind of God.
Archetypal Powers
The essential forces or principles that shape reality. Gods and spirits are expressions of these archetypes.
As Above, So Below
An ancient principle affirming that the spiritual and material are reflections of one another. What occurs in higher realms is mirrored in the lower, and vice versa.
Astral
The plane of dreams, symbols, and subtle forms. It is the bridge between the physical and the spiritual, where thought and feeling become images and experiences.
Ceremonial Space
A consecrated environment created for ritual work, set apart from ordinary life to commune with divine forces.
Communion
The act of entering into sacred relationship with All-Spirit, Gods, or spirits, through prayer, ritual, meditation, or devotion.
Cosmos
The totality of existence—spiritual and material—as an ordered whole emanating from All-Spirit. The Cosmos is alive, intelligent, and sacred.
Darkness
Not evil, but the fertile void, the hidden, the womb of potential. Darkness balances light, providing depth and the unknown from which new creation arises.
Devotion
The offering of reverence, love, and service to All-Spirit, Gods, and spirits. Devotion sustains connection and opens the heart to divine presence.
Divine Essence
The animating principle behind all existence. Spirit and matter are different densities of this same essence.
Duality
The first division of All-Spirit into polarities such as light/dark, being/non-being, or wave/trough. Duality makes experience and manifestation possible.
Evocation
A ritual act of calling forth a spirit or divine presence to manifest externally, often for dialogue, guidance, or assistance.
Gods
Archetypal intelligences who embody fundamental aspects of reality. They are powers with will and agency, who may be approached, honored, and worked with in ritual and devotion.
Guardian Spirit
A spiritual presence that protects, guides, or empowers a seeker on their path.
Initiation
A transformative passage or rite of entry into deeper mysteries, marking a seeker’s progression on the spiritual path.
Invocation
The act of calling upon divine powers—whether All-Spirit, the Gods, or spirits—to be present and active within ritual or personal practice.
Invocation Names (Sacred Names)
Titles or names used to call upon Gods, spirits, or aspects of All-Spirit. These carry power and resonance, forming a bridge of connection.
Light
Symbol and essence of divine presence, knowledge, and being. Light is not opposed to darkness but is its complement in duality.
Mystery
That which transcends complete understanding. In the Temple’s path, Mystery is embraced as the living presence of the divine that ever unfolds.
Offerings
Gifts of reverence—such as incense, light, song, or prayer—given to Gods and spirits as acts of honor and reciprocity.
Path of the Seeker
The journey of discovery, transformation, and communion that one undertakes within the Temple’s teachings and practice.
Plane
A level of existence or density within the layered structure of reality. Physical, astral, mental, and spiritual planes are all expressions of divine order.
Reality as Layers
The understanding that reality is multi-leveled. The physical realm is not separate from the spiritual but an expression of it at a denser vibration.
Ritual and Ceremony
Sacred acts of alignment, invocation, and transformation. Through ritual, practitioners commune with All-Spirit, Gods, and spirits to harmonize with higher realities.
Sacred Alignment
The act of attuning one’s consciousness, will, and being with All-Spirit, Gods, and the natural order of reality.
Sacred Order
The underlying harmony and structure of reality as established by All-Spirit and expressed through Gods and spirits.
Sacred Union
The reconciliation of dualities—light/dark, spirit/matter, divine/human—into harmony and wholeness.
Sanctuary
A place—physical, spiritual, or inner—where seekers find refuge, stillness, and communion with the divine.
Seeker
One who approaches the Temple and its teachings with openness and a desire to grow spiritually.
Spirit and Matter
Two forms of the same divine essence. Spirit is subtle, formless, and generative, while matter is condensed spirit, taking on structure and form.
Spirits
Conscious entities existing across many planes of reality, ranging from vast cosmic forces to local guardians and guides. Like the Gods, they can be communed with and called upon.
The Temple
Aetheric Temple as a spiritual community and sanctuary where seekers gather (physically or spiritually) to honor All-Spirit and work with the Gods and spirits.
Will
The directed force of consciousness, reflecting the divine will within human action. Through will, seekers shape their spiritual path.
